Bluetooth Iphone IPOD Finally Delivered by Apple. ProximityMedia Prediction Becomes Reality

ProximityMedia went out on a limb in March 2006 by speculating that Apple would announce a Bluetooth-enabled IPOD by the end of 2006. Albeit 9 days overdue, Apple's Steve Jobs delivered in a big way by announcing the Iphone, a Bluetooth-enabled IPOD and mobile phone combination. This announcement assured that ProximityMedia executives would not have to eat crow after all. The Bluetooth-enabled Iphone IPOD combo was officially announced a week ago and we can't wait for it to hit the streets in June 2007. We strongly believe that the Bluetooth-enabled Iphone/IPOD will go a long way to support ProximityMedia's efforts to proliferate the concept of Bluetooth location-based media distribution.

Bluetooth Penetration Reaches One Billion mark in 2006

2006 was an excellent year for Bluetooth penetration. It was the year that Bluetooth Penetration reached the One Billionth mark. Bluetooth Location-based media distribution also took a major step forward. If nothing else, 2007 should be quite an in interesting year for Bluetooth. We think consumers will increasingly adopt Bluetooth technology. In addition, the business community will become more aware of Bluetooth's potential as a means of distributing location-based advertising and non-advertising content. Bluetooth Advertising finally gets the respect it deserves.

Mobile Phone Hands-Free Legislation. Should the government force Bluetooth on commuters. Could Bluetooth Advertising Benefit?

Hands-free legislation now being considered by 30 states across the country could increase awareness and demand for Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones if adopted. This in turn could potentially create opportunities for Bluetooth marketing companies. Situations could arise whereby consumers have to upgrade to new Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones and accessories. Its either that or face the risk of getting a traffic ticket for driving with a phone next to your ear. We fully support safety advocates in their quest to get everyone to go hands-free behind the wheel. Play the video below to learn more about this topic.

ProximityMedia: Bluetooth Location-Based Marketing & Social Networking

A frequent question being asked lately is: Why tie into social networks? Well, consider for a minute the rising use of cell phones, the massive popularity of Internet-based social networks, and the emergence of the location-based cell phone applications. What all this adds up to is a very attractive market. ProximityMedia has decided to take a very Prosumer(Pro-consumer) approach to marketing and developing the Bluetooth MediaServer. It is the consumer after all who interacts with our applications.

It has become clear to us that a plethora of businesses want to use the Bluetooth MediaServer for more than just delivering ads to the mobile phones. Loyalty management ranks very high on the list. Whether it's rewarding customers with free MP3s for purchasing a particular product/service or allowing a customer to preview something exclusively at a retail location, the list goes on. There are those who simply want to enable customers to create mobile blogs, connect with friends, update their Myspace profile or access location-based services while sipping a Latte or enjoying a croissant within the confines of their establishment.

Location-based Music & Media Distribution with Bluetooth-enabled Ipod

Bluetooth Location-based Music and Media distribution takes a giant step forward with the recent announcement of Jabra's Bluetooth Ipod adapter. If you read ProximityMedia's March 6, 2006 press release then you were already made aware that things are moving in the right direction when it comes to the Ipod.

The debut of Jabra's Bluetooth Ipod adapter gives ample credence to our previous release. However, our dream of a truly connected Ipod will remain unfulfilled until the day that Apple officially announces a Bluetooth-enabled Ipod, with bluetooth embedded, not adapted. Be patient because our sources do tell us that one is in the works.

What does this all mean for Proximity marketing, Location-based marketing, mobile marketing, and Proximity Media's business objectives? Plenty O Plenty. The Ipod still remains the dominant music player of choice while the music loyalty reward market continues to grow at a frantic pace. Although we expect mobile phones and PDAs(most of which are already equipped with Bluetooth) to continue to take market share away from the Ipod in terms of music storage, the Ipod is still the 800 pound Gorilla in the room. And most experts seem to think that the Ipod will remain the dominant market leader for some time to come.

Our Bluetooth Mediaserver's interoperability with the bluetooth-enabled Ipod makes our service that much more appealing to retail clients. These clients will use the Bluetooth Mediaserver as a loyalty reward tool to distribute free music downloads on-site to customers who prefer to have the music downloaded directly onto their Ipods.
