Location-based Music & Media Distribution with Bluetooth-enabled Ipod

Bluetooth Location-based Music and Media distribution takes a giant step forward with the recent announcement of Jabra's Bluetooth Ipod adapter. If you read ProximityMedia's March 6, 2006 press release then you were already made aware that things are moving in the right direction when it comes to the Ipod.

The debut of Jabra's Bluetooth Ipod adapter gives ample credence to our previous release. However, our dream of a truly connected Ipod will remain unfulfilled until the day that Apple officially announces a Bluetooth-enabled Ipod, with bluetooth embedded, not adapted. Be patient because our sources do tell us that one is in the works.

What does this all mean for Proximity marketing, Location-based marketing, mobile marketing, and Proximity Media's business objectives? Plenty O Plenty. The Ipod still remains the dominant music player of choice while the music loyalty reward market continues to grow at a frantic pace. Although we expect mobile phones and PDAs(most of which are already equipped with Bluetooth) to continue to take market share away from the Ipod in terms of music storage, the Ipod is still the 800 pound Gorilla in the room. And most experts seem to think that the Ipod will remain the dominant market leader for some time to come.

Our Bluetooth Mediaserver's interoperability with the bluetooth-enabled Ipod makes our service that much more appealing to retail clients. These clients will use the Bluetooth Mediaserver as a loyalty reward tool to distribute free music downloads on-site to customers who prefer to have the music downloaded directly onto their Ipods.
